Or
Head it straight on and admit it was your fault?
I am a true believer that you should deal with the situation head on and try to resolve it as soon as you can, or in some cases try to limit the damage already caused by your mistake.
3 weeks ago I missed one word in a client's email which resulted in me sending over the wrong product. No one’s fault but my own, which is hard to take when you truly try your hardest for your clients, but on this occasion I messed up.
But is it a total disaster when you do make a mistake?
I think you can tell a lot about a person by how they deal with a mistake. Everyone makes mistakes, we're human, but it’s how you deal with those mistakes that make you stand out from the crowd.
It’s hard to write this as I would never intentionally make a mistake, but take my advice, read emails twice. Even if you have been in your position for years, everyone messes up sometimes.
